Mr. McGimsey’s cabin was a great campout. We hiked in with our sleds
and immediately set up camp. The younger boys didn’t need much help at
all so setup was fast. After set up we had lunch and played football.
When most of the kids went fishing a few people along with me, stayed back at
camp and played smaller more fun games of football. When the fishers got
bored after catching only 1 fish, they came back, and we all played more
football for a while until we got hungry and had dinner. After dinner
there was Frisbee, horseshoe tournaments, and EVEN MORE FOOTBALL. Then
while some younger scouts made “no match” fires, Mr. Hopper FLEW by and wing
waved at us in his plane. He dropped a mysterious package that flew off
course, do to strong winds, and flew into a tree. Mr. McGimsey was the big
hero because he had a monstrous ladder and was able to climb up the tree and get
the package. After some box cutting and bag ripping we got it open.
Mr. Hopper flew us all COOKIES! They were great, and everyone was saying,
“Wow did he do that randomly or was it planned?” The adult leaders
told me it was planned and I told all the guys. Once it got dark we played
flash light tag, and I built a fort and hung a lantern on it to confuse people.
It worked great because I won. Later, after we were in are tents Mr.
Wilder came over and told us all, “you’re all beautiful little flowers about
to blossom and not to worry.”(Laughed very hard) In the morning we were
off like a herd of turtles! After I went to help some slow scouts pack up we
hiked back down and were back at the church before noon. It was a great
campout that everyone
loved!
